Before the First Call: Why We Started Answering Your Questions Online

Since 2002, Pennsylvania Comprehensive Behavioral Health has cared for children, teens, adults and families across Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, York and Lancaster counties. For most of that time, we thought of the first step as a phone call or a referral.

We've learned that for a lot of people, the first step happens much earlier. It's a question typed into a search bar.

Where Most Journeys Begin

A parent wonders why their child with ADHD keeps forgetting things. An adult notices their anxiety is worst the moment they wake up. They aren't looking for a provider yet. They're looking for an answer.

For years, our website mostly reached people who already knew our name. People who were still at the question stage weren't finding us.

Deciding to Show Up Earlier

We wanted to be there for those questions, with clear, honest answers written for real people, not textbooks. But our clinicians' time belongs to our clients. Research, writing schedules and website fixes weren't things we could take on alone.

Choosing a Partner We Could Trust

We chose to work with Therapy Marketers, a marketing team that works with behavioral health providers. In our field, that choice matters. Three things settled it for us:

What Changed Behind the Scenes

Together, we researched the questions people in our area actually search for and turned them into a regular calendar of articles. Today, our blog answers questions like does ADHD affect memory? and how do you break the cycle of morning anxiety?

We also made the site easier to move through. We fixed redirect problems and connected related pages, so an article can lead naturally to services like IBHS or school-based therapy. We wrote clearer page descriptions and added image descriptions for visitors who use screen readers. We also check regularly for duplicate pages and page speed, and review our search reports.

What We've Seen So Far

We compared 12 weeks from October 2025 to January 2026 with 12 weeks from June to September 2026:

Just four articles brought in a little over half of those clicks. That tells us people really are starting with questions.

We also know a click isn't the same as someone getting care. What matters most to us is that when someone is ready to reach out, finding us is easy.

If you'd like to see the reports behind these numbers, Therapy Marketers shared their case study on our work together.
